Car dies kill switch style

I thought about the ignition amplifier, but it is new. I changed that in a recent tune up. Maybe the new one is bad quality. The old was working fine at the time. Anyway will a bad ignition amplifier will kill the power to all electrical system in the car. Nothing worked in the car. Like disconnected the battery. That is what pointed me to the crank sensor (rpm sensor)
