Depends on why he liked them...

Subaru could also be on the list if it was for DIY friendliness.
Could be a dodge Magnum if it was the RWD aspect and wagon goodness.
Maybe a Honda Element if he liked the efficient packaging.
Possibly a Jeep Cherokee if he likes the form-follow-function design and durability (but not necessarily reliability).

I am partial to the BMW 5-series wagons myself but the Honda Element is always on the radar. Lots of options depending on what is the most attractive to the owner of the RWD Volvo's.
