Although the price seems high, I am going to investigate the 144. The car has had about $10,000 worth of work done to it by a knowledgeable Volvo guy who's restored 140s before. (EVERY receipt, fully documented since the original owner.) Lots of spares included. I've always had two-door cars and I think I might be wanting something that feels less cramped when I'm driving friends around. Everything on the car is mint and **exactly** what I would do to a 144 if I had the money. The seller has good taste.
I am more than willing to put a wrench to anything, although I will admit that I get myself in trouble sometimes. I have no experience with fuel injection either, just carburetors. (And that's not saying much.) I've had to do work to all of my previous cars, '76 Opel, '90 CRX, '79 Prelude and I just want something I don't have to worry about too much. (A tad unrealistic for a 38-year old car but I've never been one for practicality.) I'm a little crazy but I love old Volvos. Either way, I look forward to being a part of this community.
