Quick heat problem 700

Ok so heres the problem. I have a really cold engine so suspect the thermostat is capute. It barely moves the hoses are warm but not hot. My problem is that my blower motor does not output any air unless I switch on the ac. I let keep the temp setting on hot but I have to have the ac on. If I tuen the ac off then the air stops comming out of the vents. Any Ideas?
