Sunroof Electrical problems 700 1988

Checked it out, and coil of solenoid is burnt-out. Not easy to rewind coil, as it is not built to be disassembled. Still don't understand what it does, but I tried locking the solenoid in it's energized position, and then the sunroof won't move at all. Guess I will feel top of roof to see if it is closed for a while.
Did you buy new motors, or find at the junkyard?
