I finally got the fuel leak fixed (I think anyway - it was at the tank), and now am getting frustrated by the continued bad behaviour of the engine. I'm just trying to keep it going long enough to get the B20 done and installed...but it's testing my patience. I had some trouble with the PCV system (blew the dipstick right out of the tube!) so I changed all those parts and that seems to work. Since I did this modification, I've been getting the oil light coming on at idle. The oil level is right up and the pump is working (it may be tired - who knows), but if I blip the throttle, the light goes off (sender is new - wire was changed).
I'm running 10W30 and am due for an oil change - should I put in something with a little more weight?
At idle I can hear the PCV valve rattling and if I pull the hose off at the manifold the engine revs up a lot (to about 2000 rmp). This seems excessive to me. Is this normal?
Help.
