Function of Radio Suppression relay? 700

I do admit that I have no experience with Rex and do not even know where the tach pulses originate on that system and certainly do not want to be the perpetrator of a myth (we have enough of them going around as it is).

My experience is with 87 240 and 88 740. Both of these very definitely nudged the tach during cranking and I interpreted this as positive confirmation of distributor output, ECU processing of the ignition signal and good power stage amp. You are correct though in saying that even without tach movement we may still have spark.

I wonder what an analogue meter set to Volts would show at the coil while cranking.
