The swinging gasoline cover door on my '88 240DL wagon won't close all the way. I thought it might be the aged rubber cowl preventing it from closing, but it's not... I guess it's some problem with the hinge itself? I can take a picture, but I don't think it would be very illuminating. I can't see anything wrong with it. Does anyone have experience with these joints no longer closing flush?

It's interesting, I've been following this forum for some time, but I don't have enough knowledge to answer any of the questions. Odd for it to be one-sided. Well, maybe I'll be able to contribute more as time goes on. Thanks for your help.
