After a week of noticing wind noise from the drivers window my glass fell to bottom of the door today when it was fully opened. Pulled the door panel to have a look and removed the glass and regulator. There is a gear slotted on one side that apparently activates a spring when the window goes up and down. This gear failed having mangled teeth, I have no idea what holds it in place.
I am hoping this gear is available as a Volvo part. Anyone know the part # ?
Also wondering if the 2 white nylon guides that the racheting mechanism glides along are replacable as they may be worn. The mechanism does not seem bent but has lots of play in it. Don't know if this is normal.
I did not find any window guides that I read about in the FAQ's and hoping someone might clarify where they are supposed to be.
Nor did I find any window clips holding the window base into its rubber lined channel. I was able to just pull the window out.
Prior to this I actually drove it for over a month with nothing to fix.
As always any help greatly appreciated.
