69 142s center bearing support 140-160

Hello, I'm wondering about the ease of replacing the rubber support on the driveshaft center bearing. The bearing is fine, but the rubber has deteriorated over time....it's the dreaded bw 35 tranny(working perfectly, for some reason) driveline setup.

Can I just remove the rear half of the driveshaft, slip the new rubber over the bearing, then reattach?

Or am I dreaming of an easy fix..?

Any related experience is appreciated!!!

Josh
