Oil pressure gauge 200 1989

A while back I installed a small clock in the top space in the dash, and moved the oil pressure gauge which had been there to the space below it. Ever since then, for some reason now my oil pressure gauge gets pegged all the way to the right whenever I turn the key on. What did I do? I'm fairly certain there is no way that I could have plugged it back in incorrectly. How can I diagnose this one?
