I have a '91 240 Bosch alternator that I momentarily shorted D+ to ground by mistake. Actually, I was trying to repair the heater tube from the manifold to air box with tin foil. The foil touched D+ for a moment, causing a small spark. The connecting wires were all in place and connected properly. Now, I'm getting 12.5V. at the battery static and the same with engine running. The warning light on the dash is not on. Can anyone tell me what I most likely damaged and the proceedure for repairing it? It's removed now, but can it be bench tested when fixed? Thanks in advance.
