A friend brought over his new-to-him '95 960 (new shape) with about 200K miles on it to have me look at it. Would've been better if he'd had me look at it before buying, but that's water under the bridge.
The problem I'm concerned about is a harsher than normal sound above 3000 rpm, and oil fouling on/around the outside of the throttle body (which of course leaked down the rest of the driver side of the block). When I pulled the air intake hose the inside of the intake manifold was wet, and there was what I estimate to be probable about 1/2 cup of oil sitting in the bottom of that big bulbous manifold.
I'm more of a redblock guy, so this is me asking what list wisdom is from those who know this engine better than I do. Is this considered normal, a minor fix, or the harbinger of expensive work to come?
Thanks,
Bram
