1988 240 DL.

There's some sort of an electrical box on the right side of the engine compartment just below the coolant tank. At the bottom of the box is a white, almost clear, wire that goes somewhere by the intake manifold. I found this wire just hanging beneath the intake manifold and was wondering if anyone can tell me what it is and where it goes. I've felt under there the best I can and I can't seem to find any connector that's missing a wire.
