Power Steering noise/vibration! Help 200 1989

Ok, so recently(last weekend) i did the head gasket with some friends, which was pretty cool, got to see all the innards and cleaned stuff. now its all back together the engine runs GREAT but it seems like everything else is giving me problems! first i was on my way back from a meeting (hour away from home) and i noticed that when i was at 1-10mph there was a horible rubbing noise coming from the rear and the brakes were squeeking for the first time. so the next morn i went and looked. there was actually a little "tag" of metal on the driveshaft that USED to be welded on. one side came up and it was rubbing on the brake line! fourtunately it wasnt bad. then i looked at the brakes, the left inner piston was frozen so the outer pad was completely dead and rubbing on the metal.
Now for the unsolved problem...
Last night i went out and i noticed the steering wheel shook a bit more than usual. I recently had the tires balanced and alligned so i was confused. It rapidly got worse.(within 20-30 min) it seemed the only way to stop the shaking was to turn. it isnt a violent shake but i think it would make your hands feel like jelly on a long trip. it also made the most odd sound. it was more RPM sensitive and went away when turning..it sounded like something metal was hitting metal. i have yet to look at the car (this happened last night, i just got up) so i am out to do that right now. i know the P/S has had a leak for a while but i didnt think that would cause it. thank you for your help!

Joe
