Rear axle bearings

I'm on the verge of letting the little bugger just die. Dragging noise in the center back of vehicle. Also squeeling noise when turning. Intermintant and it has to warm up before the noise starts.

Shop said that it's a bearing ready to go out. They can't tell if it's the axelshaft bearing or further in towards the differential. $150 to check the axel and replace seal and bearing if that's the problem. Lots more if the problem is in the differential.

Question: What are the odds that it's just the axelshaft bearing and not something bigger?
