Noise rear right wheel 200

I’ve got a lovely 1988 240 wagon (Auto) with 240,000 miles on it. Runs very well except for a mysterious sound coming from the rear right wheel.

The sound comes when I start driving, with or without the emergency brake engaged when parked. It’s a low grinding sound, like something is stuck. Often the rear brakes smell a bit after driving. I’ve done everything to get rid of it, new brakes, completely serviced emergency brakes.

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.
