New tires for my 1975 164E 140-160

Hello Board, I am completely restoring my 1975 164E, inside and out. I have the interior completed, with beautiful new leather seats, just spent $3000 on maintenance and now I am looking for new tires. What I want are preferably the Michelin's with the thin whitewall (about 1/2" thick). My book says the tire size is a P175/R15 but when I spoke to the guys at the tire store, they said some number was missing. Right now I have Bridgestone tires on P195's and I hate them, even though they are brand new.

Aren't there 2 sizes of tires for the 164E, one being larger and offering a better ride? Any help is appreciated.

I will post some pictures as soon as I can to show how the car is turning out. I am very pleased and the yellow fog lamps are very attractive. The car is being repainted in a bright fire engine red, even though that is not a "proper" color. I am not too fond of the burgundy color that was available for the 75's.

Cheers

PS: Something I highly recommend doing when cleaning and restoring a vintage Volvo, take the time to thoroughly clean the vent system. I took my apart, vents, tubes and all, and thoroughly cleaned them. The car smells remarkably fresh. The vents in the 75 are the round ones and you have to reach in from behind to unscrew them, but well worth the time. I am hoping that by the time I am finished, this car will look like it is fresh out of the factory
