Down payment has been sent for my 1st 122S Wagon. I've been wanting one of these since I saw my 1st one while an undergraduate in college. While I love my 940, I've been wanting a "simpler" car with some style (I could never go back to a 140).
So I'm wondering what special considerations I'll have to deal with in a 1967 122S? I'm getting a ton of spare parts with it, including some new fenders. It's got some cabin rust (floorboard) cracked windshield, and the engine needs a rebuild. I'm also getting a spare B18 engine, header, carbs, manifold, etc.
This car runs, it's roadworthy, and has an upgraded IPD sway bar. I'm gonna pick it up in a month (when the current semester ends).
So, any thoughts or first-timer's experiences with a 122 that could help me?
Are there any resources akin to the 700/900 FAQ for the Amazon?
(I've done extensive maintenance on a 1972 B20-powered 145 and this car looks similar inside the engine compartment dual carbs, etc).
