960 AC Compressor 900

The clutch and bearing assemby has failed on my 960's AC compressor. When this happened the compressor shaft was damaged to the point where the entire compressor needs to be replaced. I have removed all the 700/900 FAQ recommended items to gain access to the compressor. All in all an easy job. But, I am stopped dead with the removal of the final compressor bolt located at the rear of the compressor nearest the engine block. Directly in the back of the compressor is a bracket (which doesn't appear to be attched to the compressor but due to its location will not allow removal of the final compressor bolt. The brackets' appears to be held in place by two 12mm bolts holding the braket to the block but for the life of me I can't figure out how to gain access to the bolts in order to remove the bracket and then complete removal of the compressor. Volvo's service manual says to allow 1.6 hours for a 960 compressor removal but doesn't go into detail on how to get it done. I am at a loss. Is there anyone out there who has a method or trick I am over looking. Thanks in advance for your help.
