Proper method to store a flywheel? 200

I was wondering if there is a proper method to storing a flywheel for a while? I seem to remember reading some cautions about storing them, but I can't find the info now. I've checked all the repair manuals I own.
Is it best to store them standing up on the ring gear to avoid warping (like storing a head)? Or lying flat? Anything I should know?
Found a stepped flywheel from the factory intercooled cars at the junkyard, grabbed it just in case I decide I want it some day when I replace the clutch.
Thanks.
