My name is Eric and I live in Sweden, the very home of 164:s. A few weeks ago there was a question about a Volvo 164 Limousine in this forum. I know very little of this 164-limousine. I know that Volvo never did build any of these cars but there was a company called "ambulansbyggarna" (ambulance builders in eng.)that built a few 164-limo´s in 1974 (less than ten were built). They were proffesionally built. Very few remain, I´ve only seen this one and it was for sale about 6 months ago in Sweden. But, Volvo actually had a model called 164TE. The TE-model was manufactured i 1974 only. It was an even more luxuary car than the ordinary 164 and 400 of them was built. Most of them were exported to europe. It had lot of extra features such fully carpeted boot, electric antenna, reading-lights for the passengers. 10 mm. extra isolation for less noice, factory installed stereo with four speakers, headrest for the passengers + more.
