thoughts on purchase of 87 745t GLE 700

Hey, I'm considering buying this 87 745t GLE for $400, and I'm wondering what people think:

I've previously had an '89 745t, and I heard anything pre-89 had more electrical problems?
Also, seems to have some -- the radio shorts out, the fuel gauge doesn't read when the tank is half full.
And the original engine was swapped out for a non turbo 2.3 with 175k on it, same as the body.
The heated seats don't work either.
And it needs new tires and some type of alignment.

It is silver with black leather, and the body does have a few places with surface rust.

Thoughts? Should I just pick it up since it's so cheap, or will I spend another 1k fixing it?
