Been a hell of a month with the 745. Right after the 1st the Alternator died.
Last week the car died right in the middle of the road. Ended up being a dead coolant sensor. Got it fixed and the next day the car died again. It ended up be the wiring going to the radio suppression relay was shot. Got that rewired and everything was running well until the last few days when the new alternator wasn't charging until the dash board (cluster) got warmed up.
The cluster had zero power to it and nothing electrical worked in the unit except the clock. If the temperature was below 40 degrees I had to crank on the heat to warm the interior it up enough to get the power to the unit to engage. Well Saturday and yesterday I came close to having the car die on me because the battery almost gave out before the fault in the cluster would heat up enough and engage the alternator.
After reading through some of the posts I came across one that pointed me to the FAQ on a simular problem. I dug through the FAQ and found that by just snugging up the contact screws on the back of the cluster it may solve the alternator problem. Well it worked and took me less than 10 minutes to fix the problem.
