Help! 960 hesetating after engine wash 900

I just washed my engine earlier today and on my way home the engine started to hesetate. It felt like not all cylinders are firing. But I checked all the electrical contacts, and sprayed them with deox. Where could there be a buildup of water? I covered the batteri with plastic and I used compressed air on the generator and such to blow of the most water before starting the car.

It runs well for a few seconds and then it feels like i'm running on a rough road, and back to normal. And so it goes. I've tried running the engine very hot, but it seems not to help. I even checked all the igition coil collections.

Any ideas from you guys?
That's my main issue, please help!

My other one is that I noticed when checking all the components of the car that the "air pump" was filled with water. I opened it up and it was fried. It have been for a long time it seems. I read on Volvo Vadis that it only activates on start for like 60 seconds to lower some emissions and quicker warm the calalytic converter.

How important is its function? Does it affect running in general? Could it be this who causes the hesetation?
