Brake calipers DIFFERENT for 14' or 15' wheel size??? 700 1986

Checked with my local supplier for rebuilt Bendix front calipers and his book differentiated between 14" and 15" tires. It listed different numbers for the calipers for each tire size. What gives?
I thought the only difference was ABS or Non-ABS.
Anybody got a clue?
I also plan to change to Girling calipers (if I can). Which are better, Bendix or Girling?
