my new '90 760 turbo wagon (119kmi) seems to run fine, but... 700

.. if i listen to the engine idleing, standing outside the vehicle, i hear what seems to be somewhat excessive fan belt noise( hope its not bearing noise). my previous wagon an '88 740 wagon non turbo seems to have been quieter.
i applied a silicon spray to the fan belts while the engine was running, but it didn't seem to have any effect.
...
has anyone else here had a similiar situation?
