1986 240 Fuel/Electric woes HELP

I posted a message earlier and got a few replies. Thanks. I need a Christmas miracle at this point. Any and all help appreciated. The car turns over fine but will not start. Here's the list of symptoms and performed checks.
The fuel pumps will run when jumped either at fuse or relay block but not without. However, the car will not start even with fuel pumps running. Tested and determined that no signal being made to the fuel injectors. Fuse panel fuses are good. Also, Pulled the plug and it's bone dry. Tested and got nice strong spark(ouch!). I checked for fuse on left fender and some hillbilly has hard wired it in. Could this be the problem? The wire has 12volts. Is there only one fuse on the fender? Could I have a crank sensor problem or maybe ECM?
Thanks again...it's the only practical vehicle I have and would love to drive it home for Christmas.
