transmission procedure flushing 1989 780 700

I seem to have the 4 gear blues on my 780. I always works but the car has to heat up a while. I changed the relay but really suspect the solenoid now. I want to start with the flush prodedure because I bought a new gasket/filter kit. Which do you do first..powerflush then drop down pan and replace screen or is it the other way around..thanks in advance..thanks...Leo
