Check engine light 200 1989

I need to learn how to deal with the check engine light on 1989 240's. We have 2 of them. One was made June '89, so maybe it's a 1990 model.

I'm stuck. Apparently I need to know the name of the electronic ignition system, but I don't know it. Then I need to know how to read the trouble codes.

Most important - I need to know how to clear the check engine light. How?
This time I know the cause (I started it with the Mass Air Sensor unplugged). I plugged it back in but the light is still on.

Service light also needs to be cleared - I do my own oil changes, and this light apparently comes on every 5000 miles.

Thanks!
