I'm looking at a used '94 Volvo 940 car with less than 44K. Hard to believe but Carfax sez only 3,791 miles on average per year since 1994.
The car looks ok but the transmision humms. It seems to shift well on excelleration and give you a little 'neck snap' when it shifts to second gear.
It holds in place on a hill, a minor test for trans. slipage.
I thought these Aisin Warner AW70/71 where quite dependable. The humm seems to coming from the front of the trans. where it attaches to the engine. Is that where the torque converter is?
Anything to worry about?
