89 740 turbo stalling. I think it may be fuel related. 700 1989

Yesterday, I went out to my car, and had a hard time starting it up. This has never happened before. I drove it down the street to the gas station, got gas, and when I tried to start it, it turned over fine, but would not start. It took many many trys and finally it started. Drove fine. On my way to work today, I was in bumper to bumper traffic, and it seemed fine. I went to change lanes, gave it some gas, and it stalled for a few seconds. It seemed totally dead, and then took off. It gave me that trouble the rest of the way to work. Just when I step on the gas. In the past couple weeks, it has been dying when I first start it up, and put it into gear. Like there isn't enough fuel to keep it running. Put it in park, start it up again and it has been fine. My car has 111,000 miles on it. It hasn't had much done to it. This wouldn't be a timming belt thing would it? I think it should be replaced, as I don't think it ever has. Please help. Thanks.
