Recently acquired an 87-245. This is my tutorial car. I'm learning how to fix things myself. I took the throttle body off this weekend and cleaned it out.
I forgot to clear all the brass nipples. Guess I'll have to do that again now.
Onto my question, when I was removing it a hose came off in my hand. I don't know which hose this is, but....
It was cracked and taped poorly so I want to replace it before I try to start the car.
This is where it came from:
Where the big hose (the one with the big clamp) connects to the T-body there are two smaller hoses that go into the big hose. One has a clamp and the other does not. The non clamped hose is what needs to be replaced.
It has a sharp turn in it on the end that goes into the big hose and I have not idea where this hose connects to. It seems to bend to under the intake manifold where you can't see and can bareley feel.
So, can anyone figure this out for me?
Also I had to replace a belt that literally popped apart. It was the belt to the a/c I think. The longest of the single belts.
Ok..I finally found all the bolts to move the a/c and get this thing on. I had
pulled on everything that would move earlier and then when tensioning the belt back after loosening the p/s belt the screw broke off on the tensioner.
I think you have to have the right size and pitch of screw to replace this.
Any idea what the specs are and where I should go to get one?
Or should I just carry this broken screw into the hardware store and take my luck with the clerk?
