trans. shifting

Greetings all! I'm a new user with a 90 740GLE. My problem is that my transmission would'nt shift into a higher gear for a couple of blocks and I found out the filter was clogged. I dropped the pan, ckeaned the wire screen filter and changed the oil. It was fine for a few days and then it started to do it again. I repeated the procedur as the oil was still contaminated.now it won't go into lower gear when I stop unless I pull the shift lever down to low. What say ye? The last person I trust around here is the transmission shop.
