740 vs 760 700 1987

Hello all
I know this must have been on the board before but can someone tell me the difference between a 740 and a 760.
I have an 87 740 GLE and heard of a 760 that might be for sale. I was told the 760 had the B230 engine with auto. I would assume that would also be the ZF transmission.
