Radiator replaced after total coolant loss, questions. 700 1992

While my son was driving our 1992 745 Turbo Wagon the upper radiator pipe sheared off pumping out all of the coolant before my son arrived home. I checked the oil, still between the marks and the engine would turn over. I replaced the radiator, both the upper and lower hose, the valve for the heater near the firewall per brickboard suggestions, and replaced the antifreeze. The car runs fine. I have several questions: 1. About two months ago I replaced the Black reservior cap because it had a crack in it. The Volvo dealer sold me a green one saying it is a replacement for the black one. IPD says it is the wrong cap, the green cap being a higher pressure cap. Please advise. 2. After driving the car today and letting it sit around two hours, there was only a little antifreeze in the reservoir. I slowly let the pressure out and the reservoir filled to the correct mark. What does that mean? Please advise 3. The "Check Engine" light is still on. Should a dealer check the car out or can I reset this light? Please advise. The guys on this brickboard have been helpfulin the past and the info I received on how to replace the radiator was spot on. Thanks in advance.
