I've got a little deleima. I have rotated the cams to the back cover notches that indicate their positions. The exhaust is right on the money where the chizeled mark on the cam and the cover notch come together but the intake is about a tooth and a half from being where it's says it should be. The last time the belt was replaced the mechanic that did the job put white out on the spots that came up on the notiches and it is as it looks now. Exhaust on the money and the intake one and a half notches back, but the place he put the white out on the intake is coming up on the money, with the notch that is chizeled on the cam one and a half back. What should I do. Put it back together the way it is?
With respect to the crank position there is a little scrib mark right above the crank on the block, the indicator on the crank itself if I'm right is in front of the gear itself, more to the back side of the balancer. Is this right?
I'm wondering if I may have my intake retarded the way it is right now.
