1988 240GL, Cant Find OD Relay 200

I have taken the Glovebox out and peered into the hole. To my dismay, I found nothing that looked like an OD relay. What exactly does it look like. Also someone said that when you press the OD button and it clicks, the OD realy is usually ok. I hear clicking, but cant find where its coming from. The transmission is late changing gears anyway, you always have to let off the gas for it to change and sometimes it doesnt, and you have to downshift into second and upshift to Drive to coax it into doing so. Maybe I just Need a new Transmission. What are some cheap replacements, other than going to a junkyard? Has anyone had any luck installing another transmission other than what's supposed to go in the car? This car has to be ready to make 100 mile trips almost every weekend, in couple months (college). Im willing to put a couple thousand in it, seems like ive already invested that much into it anyway. Odometer is broken at 218,908.

New paragraph, new question. Oil seems to spew from the gas cap, like it doesnt a good seal or too much pressure, what could be the cause of this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
