740 b234f timing belt change - Cheap Ideas

Hi Everybody-
First off, thanks for all the help. I'm replacing the timing belt on my '89 b234f and this forum has been a ton of help.
I bought an 89' 740GLE with 108K on it. The timing belt looked new, but I didn't know when it had been changed last, so I decided to replace it. I'm also leaking coolant from the water pump seals and oil from the front of the engine. So far, I have most of the timing belt covers, pulleys, etc. removed from the engine, and I can definately see that both camshaft oil seals were leaking pretty bad.
Incedentally, I found a cheap way to unbolt your camshaft sprockets and crankshaft pulley. It's important you do the crankshaft first, because if it slips and the timing belt and camshaft sprockets have been removed, the engine could move out of time with itself and wreck your valves. For the crankshaft pulley, I bought a 3' x 1" piece of square steel from the local hardware store, the kind with the pre-drilled holes all along it. I had to drill a new set of holes halfway between one set of holes. Then I used 4" bolts and washers to bolt the steel to the bottom of the crankshaft, through those bean-shaped holes around its edge. I arranged it so that it was at TDC and the rod was contacting the driver's side frame rail. This held the crankshaft pulley still while I stood on my wrench to loosen the bolt. For the camshaft pulleys, Get a sheet of paper and a crayon, and make a rubbing of the area between the camshafts. Glue the rubbing to a piece of plywood and cut it out with a bandsaw. You can then use the resulting piece of plywood between the camshaft sprockets to steady the camshaft sprockets while you loosen their bolts.
Anyways, I haven't gotten the crankshaft pulley off yet. The big bolt has been removed, but the pulley dosen't slide off. Is this something that will take a special tool to remove? I want to replace the crankshaft oil seal while I'm at it.
Also, what should I clean out> The Haynes manual is very vague about where the flame trap and oil collector are. I can see a black cylinder under my intake manifold, which I think the flame trap is supposed to be connected to. It looks like the flame trap (or what I think the flame trap is, a small plastic connection) has popped off of the black cylinder. What should I clean out? Are there any pictures on the internet of the flame trap location and the other things I should clean out? Does this sound like an extreme case of crankcase pressure that could be caused by things other than a clogged flame trap? Where is my PCV valve?
Thanks!
-Fran
