OVERDRIVE CONTROL WIRE FIX 200 1990

I JUST DID AN OVERDRIVE CONTROL WIRE REFIT ON THIS '90 240. THE RELAY WAS CLICKING AND THE ORANGE DASH ARROW WAS WORKING,BUT IT HAD NO O.D. AND THE CONTROL WIRE WAS BARE OF INSULATION UNDER THE CAR TO THE PLASTIC CONNECTOR, SO I REMOVED THE PLASTIC SHIFTER BASE, SAW THE WHITE CONTROL WIRE, CUT THE CARPET 6" WITH RAZOR FROM THE SHIFTER STRAIGHT DOWN TOWARD THE PASSENGER FOOT WELL, GIVING ACCESS TO THE CONTROL WIRE,CUT WIRE ABOUT 3" FROM THE SHIFTER, SPLICED 24" PIECE 18GA. INSULATED WIRE ONTO WHITE CONTROL WIRE(THE PART COMING UP FROM THE FOOTWELL) USING A BARREL CRIMP CONNECTOR, DRILLED A 3/8" HOLE FROM THE INTERIOR SIDE OF THE METAL TRANSMISSION TUNNEL ABOUT 3" DOWN FROM THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE SHIFTER,FITTED A SMALL STRAIN RELIEF INTO THE HOLE AND ROUTED THE NEW WIRE THROUGH IT OVER THE TOP OF THE TRANS DOWN TO THE PLASTIC CONNECTOR, CUT THE CONNECTOR AND SPLICED WITH ANOTHER BARREL CONNECTOR. PUT A LITTLE GOOP ON THE CUT RUG AND PUT IN PLACE. WITH THE SHIFTER BASE ON, YOU CAN HARDLY SEE THE CUT. THE TRANS WORKS FINE. TOOK ABOUT 45 MINUTES.
