The power sterring line for the driver side was taken off its clips and dragged on the road until it wore a hole in it (this was during a storm, I suspect a rock). The line is grimped on one end and has a clamp on the other. Stranded, I cut the line to the hole and clamped it back on (about 12" shorter). I then refilled it with fluid and headed home. My questions:
1. Why is that hose so long? What are the dangers of driving with it shorter?
2. Do I have to replace the entire line, including the metal and hose or can I have someone grimp on a new line?
Thank you in advance,
