Hi,
The car (engine or tranny) sometimes emits a buzzing noise when I shift to a higher gear. This is more common in lower gears. It does not happen from 3rd-4th; mostly form 2nd-3rd and rarley from neutral-1st. I just replaced the timing, power steering, alternator, and a/c belts 6 days ago and I have been driving 50km(30mi) daily. I followed the Bentley instructions for the tensioner torque and got all the pulley marks lined up. I think the crankshaft pulley might a little over-torqued because it said to give it a fractional turn, but there is a typo as 1/6 does not equal 90 degrees. I have had this problem before I did the work, but it was not as bad as now. Shifting also required slightly more applied force from me right after the 'repair'; it went back to normal after a couple of days. The higher resistance to shifting returned after I revved it to 3500-4000 rpm and did some test driving in the parking lot. Should I get a timing gun? Am I damaging valves, gears, etc.?
Thanks for your help!
