Heavy trunk spoiler - any way of increasing counterweight ? 200

I happen to have an old black Eurothane wraparound spoiler lying around in my garage. It is a perfect size match for the trunklid on my 240. Unfortunately if I was to mount it onto the trunk, I would have to prop it open with a stick. It weighs quite a bit. It's from the 1980's era when the foam-rubber spoilers on hatchbacks (Mustangs, Escorts, EXPs) weighed a ton and required special gas struts to keep you from getting lumps on your head. Any ideas to increase the counterweight on the hinges. Maybe I should just forget about this idea, the 80's are over.
Ben
