Installation tips for rear window trim? - 242 & 244 200

Mine has been missing since a PO painted it years ago. Picked up the black (GLT & GT, others have chrome) trim that goes around the rear window at the junkyard last weekend, and have been trying to install it today with very little luck. I can get the top or the bottom in easily by pulling the rubber back a little and sliding it in and across, but just have no idea how to get around the curves at the corners.
Thought I would see what others have been experienced before I really mess up and break something.
Anyone done this before and have any tips? Much appreciated.
