i've got an 86 240 wagon with about 240k miles. the brakes were working just fine, but the brake hoses were splitting when i replaced the strut inserts.
yesterday, for preventive maintenance, i replaced all 6 hoses with ss hoses from fcp groton. happy with the hoses.
i bled the lines sequentially according to bentley's.
the problem: the pedal is still spongy and right near the floor, the brake pedal collapses quickly to the floor.
i couldn't use my homemade bleeder(leaked at the top), so my wife pumped the brakes.
question: how do i know if the m/c went bad? do i need to rebleed the brakes?
boy is it hot in texas, and i'm a native.
texas joke: a group of people were standing in the snow. which one is the texan? he's the one standing in the shade.
thanks again, brixsters!
