I bought an 1972 1800es fom a guy near a freinds house that lives fairly far away from me and of course parts stores and internet access, This is the continuation an earlier post that I wrote about an 1800es that dies above 2000rpm. The problem is actually different, the car runs fine for about a minute and then once its warmed up a little it runs rough and then dies. It happens much faster if the car is under load. If I let it sit at idle it will take about 5-10 minutes before it begins to run rough and eventually dies. If I try to drive it the car will do fine for about a minute before it warms up and then coughs, loses power and dies. If I push in the clutch and let it. If I restart the car right away it will continue to run rough after about 30 seconds, if I let the car cool down 10-20 minutes it runs well again for a short time. I have replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter, and fuel injection regulator, but the pump is still making a loud buzzing noise, I also checked the timing and points which are fine and put in new plugs, cap and rotor, changed the oil and oil filter and air filter. the plugs I pulled out were sooty so I know its running rich but its been sitting at idle alot. I am completly stumped and would appreciate again any suggestions.
