1993 240 Tranny AW 70 Question 200

Hello, I'm in the middle of replacing the upper front valve body on my 1993 AW-70 (without lockup) to cure delayed shifts. I've run into a bit of a hitch. After removing the upper front valve body and repairing it, I've found a very small spring, slightly longer than one of the 5.5 mm blue check balls. I'm not even sure it came from the valve body. If it came from anywhere, it came from the lower valve body but I can't be sure. If anyone has any expertise they can share before I re-install the valve body that would be fantastic. I'd love to hear "it doesn't belong in the valve body, it goes to your pen!" Next on the list, would be someone saying "I know that spring and it goes right here!" "I guess third would be, "I found that spring after I worked on my valve body and never knew the difference." Fourth would be, "I hope you don't use reverse too often." Anyhow, any advice would be great. I can provide a photo if that helps. All the best! Rob
