Hello. From the symptoms I had and the FAQ's I think the switch is bad. It was working intermittmently in both the vent position (back tipped up) and the usual slide it back position, the more and more intermittently consistent with the switch failing, and now I don't want to use it anymore until I replace it. The switch appears to be a fairly inexpensive item. Any suggestions on how to take the fascia apart to get access to the switch? Anyone done this? By the way, the hot restart problem I was having last year appeared to go away when it got colder which coincided with replacing the fuel injection pump relay, the one behind the console. When it started getting hot here a couple weeks ago, the problem reasserted itself. I think I beat it to death by replacing both the fuel injector relay (was surely installed when the car was built per the date code) and the crank sensor (RPM sensor). No problems since and it is definitely HOT here in DFW now.
