D-Jet fuel pump rehab -- Old timers-?? 140-160 1973

The saga of the Yellow Peril thickens!!

I got the fuel pump out and it was gummed up terribly with red/brown stuff
somewhere between paint and chewing gum, mostly inside but also outside.
Got it cleaned up, ran some cleaner through the motor and got it freed up
to where it runs great drawing only one amp.

Found that 1 5/16" x 1/16" O-rings will seal it back together, so I got it
reassembled and it works fine.

Hooked it up to pump the gas out of the Celery Green (122 wagon with gummy
old gas drained out of the Yellow Peril) and note that while the pump works
great, it seeps gas around the electrical connection.

Have any of you cured this problem? I know it is not rare. I surely would
like to save this pump (even though I have another one) because it pumps so
well. Your help will be most gratefully appreciated!
