Driver's power seat control swap 900 1991

The driver's power seat control on my '91 940 Turbo Wagon is gone. I acquired a newer control module that has the memory function. I don't care about the memory, but I need to know if I can just splice the control wires to the existing harness to make the seat work. The wires on the new control are quite thin while the wires on the old control are much thicker. Thanks for your help.
